We roast this Colombian coffee to a medium-light level which develops a light sugary sweetness and delicate fruitiness. Enjoyable brewed many ways, we love the cohesiveness of this coffee. It is also a blend component in the current Half - Caff Blend.
Penny Candy Blend
Our most accessible menu offering was designed for all types of coffee drinkers. The components change with seasonality, but we curate coffees with similar flavor profiles for consistency. Our Penny Candy blend performs well as an espresso or brewed as a pour over. The sweet and balanced flavors are delicious and round without additives, but Penny Candy also holds its own with cream and sugar. This is an everyday blend that everyone will enjoy.
This is the perfect blend for that afternoon pick me up or for those looking to reduce caffeine consumption. We’ve sourced two coffees from Colombia, one regular and one decaf, that complement each other. The overall sweetness is the focal point of this blend, accentuated by a smooth finish.
Decaf Colombia Valle Del Cauca
Located in a biological Conservation Corridor, Valle del Cauca lies between the National Park of Tatama and "serrania de los paraguas". Some years ago, this region was identified by Conservation International as one of the two main conservation corridors in Colombia.
Farmers in this region are strongly aware of the importance of the preservation of natural resources, water management and friendly environmental practices. Valle del Cauca was once a prominent producer of coffee, but much of the land is now dedicated to producing sugar cane.
This coffee was decaffeinated using the Sugarcane Process. The process uses ethyl acetate - an organic compound found in sugar cane - to remove 97% of the caffeine from coffee beans. The process tends to leave a pleasant, sweet flavor.
